The American Voyager is finally underway and we’ve been off to such an incredible start. We were all so excited to meet each other at the airport and make friends from around the continent including New York, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, California, Florida, Ontario, and Quebec! After playing some get-to-know-you games to break the ice, we were on our way to becoming such an amazing family!
Our first full day started off bright and early with pancakes, bagels and cereal courtesy of our campsite managers! While on the bus to the Olympic Park we listened to our morning playlist for the first time which got everyone excited and enthusiastic.
The day was filled with fun and engaging activities that helped us to branch out and make new friends. Many of us conquered our fear of heights by trying both the K64 and K90 slides at the Utah Olympic Park. We then made our way to cool down at the Lagoon-A-Beach water park. After finishing dinner that night, we set the mood for our evening activity with a great impromptu dance party!
Camping was such an amazing way to start the trip, as it got us out of our comfort zones and was an excellent bonding experience.
On day three we got up and out of our tents and we hit the road towards our next destination, Jackson Hole, Wyoming! Three states in one day may sound like a challenge but with our group, we took on Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming without a problem! When we arrived in Jackson Hole, we tried the famous and delicious Huckleberry ice cream from Huckleberry itself.
We’ve had a fun-filled few days and our highlights so far have been the breathtaking scenery of northern Utah, extreme tubing and the Lagoon amusement and water parks!
