Hello everyone! Back in action from week 3!
What a lovely 5 nights we spent at the UCLA dorms. We stayed in awesome dorm rooms and got to use the incredible facilities. Day one of LA started with a cool time at the wax museum and continued on with an exhilarating moment of excitement seeing the red carpet premiere of a new film. We got some shots of Dwayne Johnson and Dustin from “Stranger Things”! What a moment! The Trip Members enjoyed the rest of the night which was filled with small group time exploring the shops and restaurants in Hollywood and Highland.
The fun of LA continued on with the Farmer’s market, Rodeo Drive and third street promenade. The beautiful weather added to the positive vibe all around and everyone had a smile the entire day. We finished the night with an evening Ferris wheel ride on the Santa Monica Pier, which allowed us to see the beach and city lights from a different perspective. Adding to the non-stop excitement the next day, we visited Venice beach and then we filled our bellies with the most amazing ice cream sandwiches from Diddy Riese, where we got to choose our ice cream flavor, and the cookie flavors! With full stomachs and full hearts, we laughed the night away at the Improv and got to see Gustavo from “Big Time Rush”, and the Trip Members were star struck!
Days three and five were out of this world. An entire day spent at Disneyland and another day spent at Universal and CityWalk… what a great time! Cool rides, yummy snacks, and an endless flow of happiness… what could be better? The Trip Members enjoyed their time and we were really lucky to have had those wonderful experiences. We all went to bed after a fun-filled day, ready to tackle the next adventure. Safe to say LA was quite the time!
Who knew San Diego would take the prize though? Heading straight to the beach, every Trip Member was ready and prepared to surf and let me tell you, they all did so well! Surfing, for the most part, actually took over Disneyland as the number one highlight of the summer so far.
The next morning, after a bus tour of the San Diego Zoo, the Trip Members had the chance to go off and explore on their own, which they enjoyed immensely because it is such an awesome place to visit. It’s not every day that you have the chance of seeing a red panda! We ended our time in San Diego with a dinner at Liberty Public Market, where the food hall had endless possibilities, Thai, Italian, American and more. Every Trip Member happily found something, and then we finished week three with our game faces on at laser tag!
Unfortunately, we are all sad to see the days flying by, but the energy is at an all-time high and we are ready to finish the trip off with a bang! Let’s keep the memories coming!
