We cannot believe that we have been on this European Experience for over one week now! Paris was unbelievable and we loved discovering the sights of this city of Lights. Everyone left with amazing memories of the sights seen, smells wafted, and songs sung.
There was one day in Paris that we toured the Louvre, walked around the Arc de Triomphe, window shopped along the Champs Elysees, dined in the beautiful town of Montmartre and hiked up the Eiffel Tower during its beautiful nighttime light show.
In regards to the songs sung in Paris, the videos that some of the trip members may have taken at the karaoke spot do not even do the night justice. As one big family we ate dinner at a local karaoke spot and watched the ending of the Belgium vs. Brazilian World Cup soccer match. Every chair was filled and people from the street were trying to get a glimpse of the televisions showing the game. These fans were even louder than the ones we encountered in Amsterdam during the England vs. Colombia game, which made it that much more fun! Flags were being waved and people were jumping up and down on the platform that would soon be our stage.
The minute the game ended, every patron poured out of the karaoke joint, except us. We were moved to seats directly in front of the stage and started filling out our song request sheets. The night was unforgettable. The trip members even got all of the staff and our bus driver, Richard, on stage to sing our morning song! The morning song of our trip is” I Lived”, by One Republic and no matter the time of day, that song is played each and every morning. So rightly so, all of the staff and trip members started singing and dancing as we rattled the karaoke joint with our voices and big, big smiles.
It has been really special to watch our trip members connect with one another, tons of whom did not know each other a mere nine days ago. Now our big group of friends can be seen biking along the gorgeous Lake Annecy or white water rafting down the Isere River. At this exact moment the trip members are enjoying some R&R after our morning of rafting, before we head out for our last night in the fairy-tale looking city of Annecy.
Signing off for now and looking forward to recounting our upcoming European adventures to you all soon…
