It’s been a wonderful week forming friendships with our amazing group of enthusiastic, inclusive, and fun-loving kids. Beginning at our campsite in Oregon, everyone bonded during activities, such as basketball and yoga, and worked together setting up the tents and cooking food for our friends.
Next, some trip members skied Mt. Hood’s scenic slopes, while others opted for mountain biking. One of our trip members even learned how to ride a bike for the very first time! That evening, many laughs were shared as we participated in team programs. Congratulations to Team 1 for their creativity!
Canada Day was incredibly fun as we celebrated with cute Canadian stickers and proudly decorated our bus in red and white. The next day we kissed Oregon goodbye and drove to Seattle, where we enjoyed a crazy tournament of Whirlyball; a combination of bumper cars, lacrosse, and basketball. A whirly time was had by all!
The following morning we visited Pike Place Market, where we saw the famous gum wall and tasted lots of delicious treats. Then we jammed out at the Museum of Pop Culture, where some of our group’s incredible musicians showcased their talent in the recording studios. From guitarists, to pianists, to vocalists, we really are a talented bunch! Many trip members were also excited to visit The Avengers exhibit, before we all went up the Space Needle to seek Seattle’s best views! Afterwards, we attended a baseball game where the Mariners won!
We kicked off the next morning by kayaking and having a fabulous time racing across Seattle’s Lake Union together. Then our group had a blast on the slides and roller coasters at Wild Waves Theme & Water Park. From one destination to the next, each bus ride is filled with amazing sing-alongs, including a special happy birthday song and cake for Sam on his 14th birthday!
Stay tuned for our upcoming Canadian adventures!
